I serve as an Instructional Designer with the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Online Education (CETLOE), a unit of the Office of Academic Affairs at Georgia State University. I am a doctoral candidate in the Doctor of Education program in Educational Practice and Innovation, with a concentration in Learning Design and Technologies, at the University of South Carolina. Additionally, I hold a Master of Education in Education Administration from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from South Carolina State University.
Throughout my career in education, I have worked with stakeholders on the primary and secondary levels in suburban, urban, and rural communities. I also served as a Coaching Teacher for pre-service education majors through the University of South Carolina.
As an educator, I believe that every person is gifted with a unique set of skills at birth. It is my job to help people enhance their skillset and develop new abilities. Some of my favorite strategies include incorporating culturally relevant pedagogy and modeling expectations for student success.
My professional affiliations include the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).
